Become an intern

Internship Program

If social justice, sustainability, and equality are passions of yours, we want to help you develop the skills needed to make change. The Fair Trade Vancouver office is located in downtown Vancouver. It is a small office that is filled with dedicated, like-minded individuals. As an intern, you will learn how the daily tasks, weekly projects, and larger-scale events can create social change.

The internship program will allow you to utilize your unique skill-set while developing new skills that can assist in your future career endeavours. Ranging from assisting in weekly projects to general office duties to event coordination, you will gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector.

There will be two internship positions available at any given time and the positions will be unpaid. The internship schedule is flexible, with the expectation of at least one day per week up to a full-time work week. Attending Fair Trade Vancouver events will be expected if you are involved in event coordination. There are weekly Monday meetings that you would also be attending, ideally.

Internship Responsibilities

The responsibilities of an intern will be reflective of the time given by an individual. There are certain roles that interns can take on for specific experience such as:

  • Event specific project management or involvement
    • Example: Event Coordination
  • Project specific management or coordination
    • Example: Grocery and Food Service Audit Program

It will also be the responsibility of the intern to assist in general office duties and smaller-scale projects. Use of social and digital media, as well as other forms of public relations may also be required of you.
